Bavarian Food 

Bavaria is close with his borders and cooking traditions to the Austrian and Bohemian culture. The most obvious sighn of it, are the huge number of confections of pastry which are prepared in every of these regions. However most people know Bavarian food because of met dish like Haxe, Weißwürste and Leberkäs, there are also a lot of other dishes worth to try.

If someone decides to cook them by oneself, it is quite easy to get the flour, barm and other ingredients in the store right next door. But sometimes there are also special ingredients required for preparation. An example can be the pretzel. To get the origin taste of them it is absolutely necessary to give them a shower with caustic soda solution. As it is quite difficult to prepare these solution in the own kitchen it is better to buy them in right prepared in an online shop. It is also possible to buy sodium bicarbonate in a drug store but there it is mostly not availible as prepared solution. In any case the caustic soda solution mustn`t be stronger than 4% aqueous solution, if it should be used to prepare traditional pretzel.

Sweet mustard

An other speciality which often can`t be prepared at home is the sweet mustard. Sweet mustard is mostly sold and used in Bavaria. That it’s why even in  Germany some shops and stores or regions do not offer these Bavarian speciality. What kind of Bavarian food some would like to try is very different. By traveling around Bavaria there are a lot of possibilities to learn and to try different dishes from different regions of Bavaria.

Especially in small restaurants they are mostly offered in home made style. Combined with the beautiful landscape of Bavaria they are always a special kind of treat.
