German Bread 

German Bread is one of the most famous types of German Food, in many countries of the world. As it is not always possible to buy German Bread in a store or online shop, it is always worthy to try to prepare it at home. Even so it requires knowledge and experience to do it, it is way easier than most people think.

Here is an example how you can make “Schwarzbrot”.

The ingredients:

-        2 litres of buttermilk
-        35 gramm of barm
-        1 kg kibbled wheat
-        500 g kibbled rye
-        500g sunflower seeds
-        1 kg wheat flour
-        675 g sugar beet molasses

 

The preparation takes some time but it is quite easy at all. At first you have to mix all ingredients well. Then let the pastry rest a few hours. When the pastry is ready put it into two greased baking dishes. You have to bake it 2 hours and 45 minutes with 160° Celsius in an oven with top and bottom heat. After that time switch the oven off, cover the baking dishes and the pastry with aluminium foil and let it rest in the baking oven for two more hours.

German Schwarzbrot 

It is quite certain that there are a lot of other receipes to prepare Schwarzbrot, but this is an easy one which is quite usefull for home preparation as well. In any case there are a lot of other receipes available to prepare other styles of German Bread but some of them require way more time or other special ingredients. So it may become difficult to get all those ingredients which are required.

Once someone has started to prepare bread on its own it becomes easier every time you try it. By the time everybody can learn many receipes how to prepare German Bread very well.
